The Sinhala New Year is the most enjoyable festival for all Sinhala Buddhist. Is a Sri Lankan holiday that celebrates the traditional new year of the Sinhalese people of Sri Lanka. New year is a important and traditional festival. They celebrate this festival on the 14th of April every year. The farmers are harvest their fields and store grain for the coming celebrations. We whitewash our houses and polish the floors. We begin to prepare oil-cakes and sweetmeats. One this day people spend the time visit the temple. They put on new clothes. The children light fire-crackers. The new year day is spent joyfully by all and we hope the next year still be a happier one.
